GA-3000/L GA-3300/L GA-3600/L Turning Centers

HIGH-SPEED MULTI-PROCESS MACHINING CAPABILITY
Designed with heavy-duty performance and multi-process machining capability in mind, the GA-3000 series offers available live tooling turret and full C-axis. Features include box ways on all axes, a standard 0.5 second indexing hydraulic 12-station turret, or optional servo indexing VDI live tooling turret. A 30° slant design provides a rigid foundation plus smooth chip disposal and easier operator access for faster set-up times. The spindles on the GA-3000 series are driven by a Fanuc P-type 35 HP (Peak) motor, with heavy-duty bearings. This P-type motor generates the power needed to cut the toughest turning applications efficiently. A standard chip conveyor and separate coolant tank system further enhance production efficiency and operation convenience.

HEAVY-DUTY SPINDLE
The headstock is of one-piece casting design with "NSK" P4 class super high precision bearings directly assembled within. The bearing assembly consists of one double roller bearing and a set of angular contact bearings in the front with another double roller bearing in the rear. Bearings are positioned in best-suited distances of support. This combination allows the machine to perform super heavy-duty cutting with ultra-smooth operations. Other benefits include long-term durability and rigidity to withstand loads from all directions with a higher level of accuracy.

POWERFUL SPINDLE DRIVE SYSTEMS
The precision direct belt drive system provides greater spindle control, flexibility and less noise. Other standard features include spindle orientation, which allows the spindle to stop at the desired programmed position, useful for broaching applications and manual part handling. Rigid tapping feature controls simultaneously the speed and position of the spindle. By synchronizing the Z-axis feed with the spindle RPM, rigid tapping provides high-speed precision tapping without the use of floating tap holders. Set-up is easier and depth of thread more accurate. Rigid tapping permits maximum productivity for tapping operations.

A Fanuc aP40 motor generating 30 HP at 30 minutes and 35 HP at peak is used to drive the GA-3000 series spindles. This AC, constant output, wide-range, high torque output motor generates twice the amount of torque compared with standard motors. Maximum motor output is reached at a mere 575 RPM. A pulley ratio system is used to fully use the high potential of the motor.

The pulley ratios on each GA-3000 series model are individually tuned for optimum performance. GA-3000 and GA-3000L models have 7:9 ratios which help the aP40 motor generate 346 ft-lbs at 30 minutes and 409 ft-lbs at peak on the spindle with maximum speed at 3,500 RPM. Ratios can go as low as 2:5; this system will produce 673 ft-lbs at 30 minutes and 795 ft-lbs at peak on the spindle. Full output RPM on the spindles are lower according to each ratio for enhanced low speed turning applications.
